Recommended Configuration

To help you get the most out of TrendAlpha OB and TrendAlpha GC, we’ve put together a recommended configuration based on extensive testing and real-world trading scenarios. These settings are designed to optimize performance and provide actionable insights for your trading strategy.

TrendAlpha OB Configuration

Key Settings:

  • Tuning: 6
This sensitivity level strikes a balance between detecting significant order blocks and avoiding excessive noise.
  • Number of Grids: 10
Provides a detailed volume profile within each order block for better validation.
  • Mitigation Method: Close Engulfs 100% of the Order Block
Ensures strong confirmation of order blocks by requiring the price to fully engulf the block.
  • Primary Timeframe: 4H
The 4-hour timeframe is ideal for identifying powerful order blocks that align with intraday and swing trading strategies.
  • Lower Timeframes: Works well for scalping and short-term trading, but higher timeframes (e.g., Daily, Weekly) tend to produce more reliable and impactful order blocks.

TrendAlpha GC Configuration

Key Settings:

  • Poles: 4
Provides a smooth and accurate Gaussian Channel for trend analysis.
  • Sampling Period: 144
Balances responsiveness and stability in the Gaussian Channel calculation.
  • Filtered True Range Multiplier: 1.414
Adjusts the channel width to reflect market volatility accurately.
  • Reduced Lag Mode: Unactivated
Keeps the indicator’s lag at a natural level for reliable trend identification.
  • Fast Response Mode: Unactivated
Ensures the indicator maintains consistency without overreacting to short-term price movements.
  • Source: hlc3
Uses the average of high, low, and close prices for balanced calculations.
  • Multi-Timeframe Analysis:
    • Current Timeframe: For real-time trend analysis.
    • 4H: For intraday and swing trading strategies.
    • Daily: For identifying key levels and long-term trends.
    • Weekly: For high-impact, long-term trading opportunities.
    • Monthly: Rarely used, but when price approaches the Monthly Gaussian Channel, it often represents a lifetime buying opportunity.
